About The Matthew Class
Starting April 21, 2024, the Adult Sunday School Class (ADSS), a ministry of the Orchard Church in McHenry, Il., will begin going through the Gospel of Matthew, verse-by-verse and paragraph-by-paragraph. Depending on how many Sundays are in each month, we will go through Matthew the first three or four Sundays of each month. Then, on the last Sunday of each month, we will step aside from Matthew to do something different, like a short word study, topical study, devotional, watch a video or have a prayer time.
You are welcome to come for fellowship at 8:45 on Sunday mornings in room 300 (in the Family Ministry Center), and class will start promptly at 9:00 am. If the door is closed, please just come in.
Although no book is required, and anyone may come at anytime, we will be using the Holman New Testament Commentary on Matthew as our base. If you would like a book, I would recommend getting a print copy from Amazon (if they are still available), Christian Book Distributors, or, preferably, a digital copy from OliveTree Bible App. You can get more info about OliveTree at https://www.olivetree.com, and the book is here. I have been using the OliveTree Bible App for over 20 years, and I highly recommend it. (I do not receive royalties of any kind from anyone.) I will be using OliveTree in class but you don’t need it or the book for the class. Just show up!
